Roni Zaide became vegetarian on her 11th birthday. Years later she made the transition to a full vegan, plant based lifestyle. Her passion for delicious, healthy food led her to cook in kitchens around the world in the past 15 years. She has worked at 'The Coup' in Calgary for 7 wonderful years (awarded 8th best vegetarian restaurant in the world in 2015 by The Daily Meal), before opening her own business,
Roni’s Kitchen, in 2015. Roni loves to share her passion through a variety of plant based cooking classes, and together with her wonderful staff, they offer catering services for individuals & businesses for weddings, yoga retreats, dinner parties and other events.
Born and raised in beautiful Kelowna in the Okanagan Valley, Megan took an interest in food and nutrition at a young age. What started off as reading nutrition labels and enjoying a surplus of fresh fruits and vegetables picked from the yard, developed into a degree in Nutrition and Food Science at the University of Alberta, Edmonton.
Megan has since been able to apply her nutritional knowledge and passion in a multitude of areas, including opening up a vegan restaurant and market called Raw Eatery and Market, in Calgary.
Over the years Megan has developed a conscious mind about how food impacts herself and her surroundings. She's become intensely keen on discovering where her food comes from, how it was grown, and what the consequences and rewards are of her food choices; both internally and externally.
She began to value and prioritize locally grown foods and ethically became more inclined to focus on a plant based diet, rather than one centered around animal products.
This, combined with the philosophy of health being a holistic mind-body-spirit package, has provided the foundation for her life, and now, for her business. Raw gives her the opportunity and platform to extend that philosophy and passion to others.
